Dunois

We completely renovated this bright apartment, with the guiding principles of creating well-defined spaces for specific uses, and a color palette based on intense terracotta and luminous beige-pink. Using solid colors and gentle curves, we transformed the geometry of the rooms without moving the walls. This assertive contemporary aesthetic is punctuated by touches of brushed brass.

Right from the entrance, the tone is set. We created a large multifunctional piece of furniture along the entrance wall, that runs the apartment length. This unique design was conceived as an everyday tool, with closet space, storage and shelving, optimizing every square meter. The existing WC was removed to integrate closet space and we concealed the electrical panel, still accessible behind a door. The angle was rounded off, to bring softness, and complements the shapes throughout the living areas. 

The kitchen and dining area, at the heart of the apartment, were completely transformed to integrate an island with plenty of storage space. We chose pure materials - stone, brushed brass - for a chic aesthetic that harmonizes with the project's colorful palette. The curved dropped ceiling adds character and dialogues with the curves of our custom furniture and the solid colors. We designed a claustra (doubled as shelving) to separate the kitchen from the dining area. Two custom cushions complete the banquette and were made in a raspberry terracotta fabric, which we love for its luminous hue and velvety touch.

The existing Master Bedroom and Ensuite were completely overhauled and is now a proper Master Suite with Ensuite, separate WC and plenty of storage. The rounded headboard adds a welcome touch of softness. Brass sconces and reading lights add a designer touch that we love.

In both showers (Master and kids), we used either matte and glossy terracotta tiles, which provide a dynamic contrast to the white and beige of the walls and furniture.
