In this superb Haussmannian Parisian apartment, which had not been renovated for more than half a century, Atmospheres Design signs a sensitive reinterpretation of classical elegance.
The project is based on a controlled tension between heritage and modernity. Quality of materials, precision of proportions, our interior design never seeks spectacular effects. It creates a refined and timeless atmosphere, thus creating a very Parisian elegance!
The original cornices, moldings and floors were carefully restored, then combined with contemporary writing based on the purity of lines, custom-made carpentry and a delicately “desaturated” palette.
Ivory, greige, sand, pink taupe and gray blue compose a cozy atmosphere, enhanced by a few navy blue accents that highlight the volumes and architectural details. Walnut, omnipresent, brings warm depth and becomes the real thread running through the project.
The entrance immediately affirms the character of the place thanks to an intense blue and a series of pieces custom-designed by our Studio, including a sculptural console. In the kitchen, preserved in its original location, the circulation has been completely redesigned in order to optimize uses and storage. Travertine-inspired ceramic, a credenza with curved lines and a mirror column soften the geometry of the space.
Reception rooms emphasize the authenticity of the materials and the softness of the forms. Full height curtains, wrought iron rods, bronze lights and custom glass roof, also signed by the Studio, in navy blue metal, extend the dialogue between ancient architecture and contemporary intervention.
In the sleeping area, new functions have been integrated discreetly thanks to pocket doors, a shower room and a laundry room located in the old dressing room. Finally, the rooms were designed as refuges. Antique cornices interact with full-height storage with immaculate facades, while textiles, dark woods and powdery tones create a serene, enveloping and timeless atmosphere.
More than a renovation, we wanted to propose in this project a vision of luxury as we envision it: an interior where nothing is superfluous, where every detail contributes to a subtle harmony between the memory of the place and the contemporary art of living.
